NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING This is notice of a public hearing by the Indian River County Board of County Commissioners to consider adoption of an ordinance; entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE EXTENSION OF A TEMPORARY MORATORIUM UNTIL DECEMBER 31, 2026, WITHIN THE UNINCORPORATED AREAS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY SPECIFIC TO THE OSLO CORRIDOR STUDY AREA PROHIBITING THE FILING, ACCEPTANCE, PROCESSING AND/OR CONSIDERATION OF ANY APPLICATION OR REQUEST FOR A ZONING CHANGE OR COMPREHENSIVE PLAN FUTURE LAND USE AMENDMENT; PROVIDING FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF ADMINISTRATIVE ACTIONS; PROVIDING FOR NONCODIFICATION AND SCRIVENER'S ERRORS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; REPEAL OF CONFLICTING PROVISIONS, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. A vote will be taken on the proposed ordinance to consider approval of the ordinance by the Board of County Commissioners. If adopted, the ordinance will extend the existing temporary moratorium imposed within the Oslo Corridor Study Area located in the unincorporated area of Indian River County until December 31, 2026. During the term of this moratorium, the County shall suspend the filing, acceptance, processing, and/or consideration of any application or request for a zoning change or Comprehensive Plan future land use amendment affecting properties within the designated Oslo Corridor Study Area. A public hearing, at which parties in interest and citizens shall have an opportunity to be heard, will be held by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, in the County Commission Chambers of the County Administration Building, located at 1801 27th Street, Vero Beach, Florida on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 9:00 AM. A draft of the proposed ordinance is available at the Indian River County Planning Division office located in the Planning & Development Services Department on the first floor of the County Administration Complex Building "A". Anyone who may wish to appeal any decision, which may be made at this meeting will need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which includes testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is based.
