Sunnycrest Manor
Ms. Frank called the FY27 Budget Hearing to order at 12:16 p.m.
Members Present: S. Frank, J. Splinter, K. Stevens, S. Bahl and T. Pancratz
Public comment was made by Clark Scholz, Dubuque spoke about his support of Sunnycrest Manor and suggested making a video about all the good things we do and the services we offer. He also spoke about the FY27 tax levy.
The Board discussed SF 2472 and how that will affect the tax levy if it passes.
The public hearing adjourned at 12:30 p.m.
Ms. Frank called the April 13, 2026, meeting of the Board of Trustees to order at 12:30 pm
Members Present: S. Frank, J. Splinter, K. Stevens, S. Bahl, J. Henry, T. Pancratz and P. Stockel
Ms. Stockel took her Oath of Office.
Mr. Stevens and Ms. Bahl made a motion to approve the March 9, 2026 minutes. The motion carried unanimously.
Maintenance: Mr. Reisdorf gave the following report:
• Dietary water softener and water filtration are completed.
• New John Deere mow deck is completed and installed on the tractor ready for use.
• Genie lift GH-3.8 super hoist has arrived. We are waiting on the air compressor.
• Bids for the chiller plumbing and pumps were provided by Dubuque Plumbing and MMC Mechanical. Mr. Pancratz and Mr. Stevens made a motion to approve the MMC bid
• I will be getting bids for replacement of the heat tape used in the facilities, gutters and downspouts. This winter we had several problems and suspect possible damage to the gutters and areas hidden from view.
• It has been requested that card readers be placed on the doors of two med rooms for better security and tracking entry. Estimated cost for installation is roughly $760.00 Mr. Pancratz and Mr. Splinter made a motion to get the card readers. The motion carried unanimously.
• We have continual issues with the motors in the exhaust fans on the roof. Mr. Reisdorf is going to get quotes on new direct drive fans instead of continuing to repair them.
Administrator Report: Ms. Ettema gave the following report:
• We had Nursing Facility and Sunrise surveys. We had 3 deficiencies in NF. ICF/ID had 0 deficiencies for the 2nd year in a row.
• The Fire Marshall was also here. The deficiencies were corrected before the Fire Marshall left the building.
• We have the attorney looking into an EIN number. That is holding up other processes.
• We have biweekly meeting with attorneys scheduled regarding the transition.
The Sunnycrest Auxiliary raised $6,800 at Burger night for our residents.
Treasurers Report:
The Balance Sheet, Income Statement and checks for March were reviewed. Ms. Bahl and Mr. Stevens made a motion to approve the finance report and sign the checks. The motion carried unanimously.
We need to replace our time clocks because the current ones will no longer be supported. Mr. Splinter and Mr. Stevens made a motion to purchase the time clocks. The motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Stevens and Mr. Pancratz motioned to sign the contract with Dallas Lynch for employee related legal services during the transition. The motion carried unanimously
Communications:
Towerco check, Capra Bank Funds Availability Policy, UMB/HTLF rebate check for P-Card transactions, OConnor English refund checks and Alpine Park property tax appeal.
Work session:
Joint meeting with the Advisory Board and Trustees. The Boards discussed the transition, the tax levy and the continuation of the Advisory Board.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 2:19 p.m.
