NORTHWEST AREA EDUCATION AGENCY PUBLIC NOTICE RE:ELECTING MEMBER TO THE NORTHWESTA AEA BOARD OF DIRECTORS LEGAL NOTICE lowa Code 273.8 – Area Education Agency Board of Directors In keeping with Section 273.8, Code of lowa, the Chief Administrator of the Northwest AEA (Area Education Agency), hereby calls a convention within Director District 1, for the purpose of electing a member to the Northwest AEA Board of Directors, to fill the current vacant position for the unexpired portion of the term, which expires December 2029. Director District 1 consists of all of the following community school districts:Boyden-Hull, Central Lyon, George-Little Rock, Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn, Rock Valley, Sheldon, Sibley Ocheyedan, Sioux Center, West Lyon. The “Statement of Candidacy” form shall be filed with the Northwest AEA Board Secretary at least ten days prior to the date of the Director District Convention on forms prescribed by the Department of Education. The Statement of Candidacy form shall include the candidate's name, address, and school district. Candidates must reside in one of the affected school districts indicated for Director District 1 to be considered for election, buť shall not be a school district employee A member of an area education agency board shall not serve on the board of directors of a merged area community college.
