NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

TOWN OF NELSON

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, pursuant to Municipal Home Rule Law and Town Law, there has been presented to the Town Board of the Town of Nelson, New York, at a regular meeting thereof held on March 12, 2026, proposed Local Law No. B-2026, titled, “A Local Law Imposing a Six (6) Month Moratorium on the Establishment of Commercial Wind Energy Facilities within the Town of Nelson.” Said Local Law, if enacted, would prohibit the placement, construction or erection of a commercial wind energy facility within the Town of Nelson and/or the processing or further processing of such applications for a period of six (6) months. The full text of said Local Law is on file at the Town Clerk’s Office at the Nelson Town Office located at 4085 Nelson Road, Cazenovia, New York 13035 for inspection by all interested persons.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that on March 12, 2026, the Town Board declared itself to be lead agency and determined that this proposed Local Law is a Type II Action and determined that the action will have no significant adverse impact on the environment for purposes of the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA).

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the Town Board will hold a public hearing on the proposed Local Law at the Nelson Town Office located at 4085 Nelson Road, Cazenovia, New York 13035 on April 9, 2026 at 6:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard, at which time all persons interested will be heard.
