LEGAL NOTICE
NOTICE OF ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION SUBJECT TO PERMISSIVE REFERENDUM
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a regular meeting held on the 21st day of April, 2026, the Board of Trustees of the Village of Whitehall, Washington County, New York duly adopted a resolution, an abstract of which follows, which resolution is subject to a permissive referendum pursuant to Section 36.00 of the Local Finance Law of the State of New York.
Said resolution supplements bond resolutions dated May 21, 2024 and August 27, 2025 by authorizing the issuance and sale of an additional serial bond or bonds and a bond anticipation note or notes in anticipation of the issuance and sale of said serial bonds in an amount not to exceed $1,381,312. The proceeds from the sale of the obligations authorized in said resolution will be used for the specific purpose of financing a portion of the cost of the installation of infrastructure within the Village’s wastewater treatment facility for effluent disinfection, at an estimated maximum cost of $4,324,862. To offset said amount, the Village has applied for and been awarded a Bipartisan Infrastructure Law grant from the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation and a Water Quality Improvement Project grant from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and has applied for and expects to receive funding from the Community Development Block Grant program. The period of probable usefulness of said purpose is forty (40) years. A copy of the resolution summarized herein, and copies of the prior bond resolutions referred to above, are available for public inspection during normal business hours at the office of the Village Clerk located at the Village Hall, 57 Skenesborough Drive, Suite 2, Whitehall, New York 12887.
