TOWN OF HORICON NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING PROPOSED LOCAL LAW NO. 1 OF 2026 ESTABLISHING A MORATORIUM ON BATTERY ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEM FACILITIES NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Horicon Town Board will hold a Public Hearing on Thursday , May 21, 2026 , beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Horicon Town Hall, 6604 State Route 8, Brant Lake, NY 12815 , concerning proposed Local Law No.1 of 2026. The proposed Local Law would establish a one year moratorium on any new battery energy storage system facility in the Town of Horicon. A battery energy storage system facility is defined as one or more devices, assembled together, capable of storing energy derived from solar or wind or otherwise, to be stored and then released at a future time. [The proposed moratorium would not apply to any storage facility that has received all final approvals and permits from the Town.] Copies of the proposed Local Law are on file in the Town Clerk’s Office and also on the Town of Horicon website at www.horiconny.gov.
