Extreme Heat Protections for National Grid Customers

Your safety and well-being are important to National Grid, especially during periods of extreme weather. Effective June 1, 2026, National Grid residential electric service customers will not have their service terminated for non-payment during periods of extreme heat*, as required by the New York State Public Service Commission. An extreme heat day occurs when the heat index reaches or is expected to reach 90°F or higher. These protections apply year-round to residential customers, including homes and apartment buildings.
