NOTICE OF  COUNTY COUNCIL  PUBLIC HEARING   The Sumter County Council will hold a public hearing on proposed amendments to the Sumter Zoning Ordinance on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the Third Floor Council Chambers of the Administration Building (13 East Canal St., Sumter, South Carolina). The following requests are scheduled for consideration:  RZ-26-02, 1022 Pocalla Rd. (County)  A request to rezone a +/- 0.6-acre portion of a larger +/- 1.35-acre split zoned parcel from Residential-6 (R-6) to General Commercial (GC).  The property is located at 1022 Pocalla Rd. and is represented by TMS# 251-08-01-001.  Documents pertaining to the proposed request(s) are on file in the Office of the Sumter City-County Planning Department and are available to be inspected and studied by interested citizens.
