RESOLUTIONWHEREAS the Board of Supervisors of the Columbia Conservation District (“District”) operates under the laws of the State of Washington applicable to conservation districts.WHEREAS the District is governed by a five-member board, as set out in RCW Chapter 89.08 and WAC Section 135-110.It is RESOLVED that the open position appointed Board position #5 will be advertised on the Columbia Conservation District website, in the local newspaper for no less than 30 days startingMarch 19th, 2026 and ending April 17, 2026 prior to Board approval and appointment of a candidate (appointed position #5). Interested candidates for the appointed positions #5, must own property within the boundaries of the District. Candidates may be required to be landowners or operators of a farm, depending on the current composition of the District board of supervisors. Interested candidates must provide a written request to be considered by the board for midterm appointment, to fill the position for the remainder of the term, by April 17th, 2026 by 12 pm. This may be in the form of letter hand delivered to the district office or emailed to districtmanager@columbiccd.com. A conservation district supervisor is a public official who serves without compensation and who sets policy and direction for the conservation district.
