Notice of Intent toAdopt a Mitigated Negative Declaration for the San Jose Creek MultiUse Bikeway Project The City of Pomona (City) is proposing theSan Jose Creek MultiUse Bikeway Project (proposed project), whichconsists of the development of a 3.5mile offroad bike and pedestrian path along a segment of San Jose Creek between Temple Avenue and Murchison Avenue in the City of Pomona in Los Angeles County, California.The proposed project isenvisionedto provide pedestrians andbicyclistsa safer offstreet path of travel between community destinations and amenities in the city.Itwould consist of 15 access points, including 6 atgrade street crossings, as well asstormwater capture treatments, trailhead gateways and access points,andwayfinding and safety signage. The City, as Lead Agency under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA),has completed aDraftInitial Study/ProposedMitigated Negative Declaration(IS/MND)for the proposed project,whichdiscloses potential environmental impacts associated with the proposed project and recommends mitigation measuresto reduce impacts to a less than significant level.TheCityhasdeterminedthatwith the incorporation of the mitigation measuresfor biological resources, cultural resources, noise, and tribal cultural resources, the proposed project would not have a significant adverse effect on the environment.Accordingly,theCityintends to adopt a Mitigated Negative Declaration,pursuant toSection 21080(c) of the Public Resources Code.
