NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that an Administrative Hearing will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Public Works Conference Room located on the first floor at City Hall, 505 South Garey Avenue, Pomona, California. The purpose of the Administrative Hearing is to review delinquent trash collection accounts prior to recommending that City Council place the delinquent accounts on the property tax bills as a special assessment.Delinquent Trash Collection Special AssessmentThe City of Pomona has received notice from its franchised refuse contractor, Athens Services, with a list of delinquent Solid Waste (Trash) collection accounts, the service period, and the amounts due plus penalties.Pursuant to the City of Pomona Municipal Code, Section 62-724, all trash collection service charges which are delinquent 90 days, shall be turned over to the City for placement on the tax bill as a special assessment.The City is authorized through the California Government Code, Section 38790.1 and 25831 to submit delinquent charges, administrative and assessment charges for Solid Waste (Trash) collection service on the tax bill, as a lien on the property.At the Administrative Hearing on the date, time, and place stated above, any interested person may appear and be heard by the Public Works Director to contest the special assessment against the parcel property for unpaid delinquent trash collection charges, and any other matters contained in Section 38790.1 and 25831.Any person desiring to contest, make comments, or present information, may make an oral presentation at the Hearing or file a written protest with the City Clerk prior to the time of the Hearing.
