NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 3, 2026, the Local Agency Formation Commission of Santa Cruz County (LAFCO) will hold public hearings on the following items: "BCFPD Station Parcel Annexation" to County Service Area 7: Consideration of a two-parcel annexation into County Service Area 7. The subject parcels are located north of Fallen Leaf Drive, east of Empire Grade Road, south of Jamison Creek Road, and west of Big Basin Way. If approved, the existing properties, including the Boulder Creek Fire Protection District Fire Station, will receive sewer service from a neighboring sanitation district. "La Cuesta Road / Hyde Stephen Extraterritorial Service Agreement" with the City of Scotts Valley: Consideration of an extraterritorial service agreement by landowner request for sewer service from a nearby public system. The proposal area involves two parcels (APNs: 067-281-01 and 067-281-02) totaling approximately two acres located within the City's sphere of influence boundary. If approved, the ESA would fulfill the requirements under GCS 56133. Comprehensive Fire Protection Service and Sphere Review: Consideration of a service and sphere review for 12 local agencies that provide fire protection: Aromas Tri-County Fire Protection District (FPD), Ben Lomond FPD, Boulder Creek FPD, Central Fire District, Cities of Santa Cruz and Watsonville, County Service Areas 4 and 48, Felton FPD, Pajaro Valley FPD, Scotts Valley FPD, and Zayante FPD. These agencies are located throughout Santa Cruz County. In compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), LAFCO staff is scheduled to prepare a Categorical Exemption for the proposals listed above.
