CITY STATE SVILL FLORIDA PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE CITY OF GAINESVILLE REGARDING SUBMISSION OF THE FISCAL YEARS 2026-2029 STATE HOUSING INITIATIVES PARTNERSHIP (SHIP} PROGRAM THE LOCAL HOUSING ASSISTANCE PLAN (LHAP) NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Gainesville is in the process of developing and seeking approval for its proposed Local Housing Assistance Plan (LHAP) for Fiscal Years 2026-2027, 2027-2028, and 20282029, as required under the State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) Program. The SHIP Program is authorized under Sections 420.907-420.9079, Florida Statutes, and Chapter 67-37, Florida Administrative Code, and is administered by the Florida Housing Finance Corporation. The purpose of the LHAP is to outline strategies to meet the housing needs of very low-, low-, and moderate-income households; to expand and preserve affordable housing; and to further the affordable housing goals of the City's Comprehensive Plan. As part of the LHAP approval process, the City of Gainesville, the Department of Housing & Community Development conducted four (4) community engagement sessions to solicit input from residents, housing providers, service organizations, and other interested parties. The purpose of these sessions was to provide the public with an opportunity to review the draft LHAP framework and to offer comments, recommendations, and input prior to the Plan being submitted for adoption. The LHAP has not yet been adopted and must undergo a public hearing and City Commission approval prior to adoption. Public participation is encouraged to ensure the draft LHAP reflects community housing needs and priorities. NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that the City of Gainesville will conduct a public hearing for the LHAP This public hearing is scheduled as follows: Date/Time Thursday, April 16, 2026, at 10 AM morning or 1 pm afternoon Presiding Body City Commission Location City Commission Chambers, at City Hall, 200 East University Avenue The Draft LHAP can be accessed from the following webpage: https://www.gainesvillefl.gov/Government-Pages/Government/Departments/Housing- Community- Development.
