BOARD MEMBER ORIENTATION 2.12
Purpose and Effect: The purpose of the public hearing is to discuss and obtain public input regarding Policy 2.12 Board Member Orientation. The policy is proposed to be amended as follows:
1. Revises the policy title and expands the orientation scope to encompass training on Board governance, Roberts Rules of Order, Board operations, District procedures, and Board voting/technology protocols.
2. Clarifies statutory references pertaining to the Sunshine Law and public records regulations.
3. Includes the state-mandated annual ethics training.
4. Integrates Florida School Board Association and Auditor General recommended courses.
5. Removes the orientation sign-off requirement,
