Supervisor Ferretti moved the following resolution’s adoption:
RESOLUTION TO CONTINUE THE PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PROPOSED AMENDMENT OF SECTION 185 OF ARTICLE XV OF THE BUILDING ZONE ORDINANCE WITH RESPECT TO THE LEVITTOWN PLANNED RESIDENCE DISTRICT (LPRD)
WHEREAS, this Board is empowered to amend the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Hempstead pursuant to N.Y. Town Law Article 16 and the Town’s Building Zone Ordinance Article XXXI, as amended; and,
WHEREAS, a public hearing on the proposed amendment of section 185 of Article XV of the Building Zone Ordinance with respect to the Levittown Planned Residence District (LPRD) was, as scheduled, begun on the 28th day of April 2026 at 10:30 o’clock of that day at Town Meeting Pavilion, Hempstead Town Hall, 1 Washington Street, Hempstead, New York, at which time the Board received testimony from members of the public; and,
WHEREAS, the Board voted to continue the public hearing on the 12th day of May 2026 at 10:30 o’clock of that day;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT,
RESOLVED, the public hearing on the proposed amendment of section 185 of Article XV of the Building Zone Ordinance with respect to the Levittown Planned Residence District (LPRD) shall be continued on the 12 th day of May 2026 at 10:30 o’clock of that day at which time all persons interested shall be heard on the proposed amendment of section 185 of Article XV of the Building Zone Ordinance with respect to the Levittown Planned Residence District (LPRD), such that it shall state as follows:

Building Area.
A. The building area shall not exceed 27.5% of the lot area, except that additional lot area may be devoted to accessory decking of no greater than three feet in height, provided that it shall not increase overall lot area coverage beyond 30% of the lot.

BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, the Town Clerk shall publish this resolution at least ten (10) days prior to the date set for the public hearing and once a week for two (2) consecutive weeks and give written notice to people entitled thereto according to law.
