Councilmember Goosby moved the following resolution’s adoption:
RESOLUTION CALLING A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PROPOSED AMENDMENT OF SECTION 185 OF ARTICLE XV OF THE BUILDING ZONE ORDINANCE WITH RESPECT TO THE LEVITTOWN PLANNED RESIDENCE DISTRICT (LPRD)
WHEREAS, this Board is empowered to amend the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Hempstead pursuant to N.Y. Town Law Article 16 and the Town’s Building Zone Ordinance Article XXXI, as amended; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to consider the amendment of section 185 of Article XV of the Building Zone Ordinance with respect to the Levittown Planned Residence District;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT,
RESOLVED, a public hearing shall be held in the Town Meeting Pavilion, Hempstead Town Hall, 1 Washington Street, Hempstead, New York, on the 28 th day of April, 2026 at 10:30 o’clock of that day, at which time all persons interested shall be heard on the proposed amendment of section 185 of Article XV of the Building Zone Ordinance with respect to the Levittown Planned Residence District (LPRD), such that it shall state as follows:

Building Area.
A. The building area shall not exceed 27.5% of the lot area.

BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, the Town Clerk shall publish this resolution at least ten (10) days prior to the date set for the public hearing and once a week for two (2) consecutive weeks and give written notice to people entitled thereto according to law.
