The FIMP Project is a coastal storm risk management project led and funded by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, in partnership with New York State and the Town of Southampton is one of the local sponsors. The FIMP Project was designed to manage the risk of coastal storm damages along Long Island's Atlantic Coast in a way that balances risks to human life and property, while maintaining and enhancing natural resources. Contract 3 of the FIMP Project will involve beach and dune fill on some Atlantic Coast shorefronts in the Town of Southampton. The purpose of this hearing is to outline the Project purpose, its proposed location, and to provide other pertinent information.
