NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING PURSUANT TO THE NEW YORK STATE EMINENT DOMAIN PROCEDURE LAW
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that, in accordance with Article 2, Section 202 of the New York State Eminent Domain Procedure Law (“EDPL”), notice is hereby given that a public hearing for a project known as the Fire Island Inlet to Montauk Point, NY (FIMP) Project (Contract 3), will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. , both in-person at Southampton Town Hall, 116 Hampton Road, Southampton, New York, and via videoconferencing. The FIMP Project is a coastal storm risk management project led and funded by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, in partnership with New York State and the Town of Southampton is one of the local sponsors. The FIMP Project was designed to manage the risk of coastal storm damages along Long Island’s Atlantic Coast in a way that balances risks to human life and property, while maintaining and enhancing natural resources. Contract 3 of the FIMP Project will involve beach and dune fill on some Atlantic Coast shorefronts in the Town of Southampton.
The purpose of this hearing is to outline the Project purpose, its proposed location, and to provide other pertinent information. The Project is located in the Town of Southampton, County of Suffolk, State New York, and involves the acquisition of a Perpetual Storm Reduction Easement interest in a portion of the following privately owned properties:

Any party wishing to address the Town of Southampton with regard to the foregoing may do so, in person or by agent, or by written comment addressed to the Town Attorney, 116 Hampton Road, Southampton, New York 11968. Written comments must be received by t he Town Attorney prior to the date of the public hearing.
Pursuant to Article 2 of the EDPL, those property owners who may subsequently wish to challenge the condemnation of their property by judicial review may do so only on the basis of issues, facts, and objections raised at the public hearing.
