IN THE MATTER OF: L.S. (d.o.b. 12/27/2017) CASE NO. 26AND0020 ALLEGED ABUSED/ NEGLECTED/ DEPENDENT CHILD LEGAL NOTICE CHARLES DAVID SMITH, III, father of the child, whose last known address is UNKNOWN is HEREBY NOTIFIED that on March 16, 2026, Scioto County Children Services ("SCCS") filed a Complaint alleging that said child is abused, neglected, and/or dependent and requesting the temporary emergency custody of said child. CHARLES DAVID SMITH, III is further notified that an adjudication hearing will be held on, April 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. and a disposition hearing will be held on May 19, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at the Scioto County Juvenile Court, 602 7th Street, Portsmouth, Ohio 45662 and that he is required to attend. ANY COURT ACTION CAN HAVE AN EFFECT ON PARENTAL RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES. AN ADJUDICATION THAT THE CHILD IS ABUSED, NEGLECTED, OR DEPENDENT MAY RESULT IN AN ORDER OF TEMPORARY CUSTODY THAT WILL CAUSE THE REMOVAL OF THE CHILD FROM THE LEGAL CUSTODY OF THE PARENT/CUSTODIAN UNTIL THE COURT TERMINATES THE ORDER OF TEMPORARY CUSTODY OR PERMANENTLY DIVESTS THE PARENTS OF THEIR PARENTAL RIGHTS.
