PLEASANT RIDGE UNION SCHOOL DISTRICTNOTICE OF VACANCY AND PROVISIONAL APPOINTMENTTO THE PRUSD GOVERNING BOARD
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that The Pleasant Ridge Union School District Board of Trustees intends to fill a vacancy on the school board by provisional appointment pursuant to state law. The vacancy was created upon the resignation of Deanne Opdahl effective on May 14, 2026.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that no later than July 13, 2026, the Governing Board of the Pleasant Ridge Union School District will consider whether to make a provisional appointment to fill the vacancy created by Deanne Opdahl.
Any person is eligible to be provisionally appointed to the Governing Board if he/she is: 18 years of age or older; a citizen of California; a resident and registered voter of Nevada County, California; and not otherwise legally disqualified from holding civil office. The provisional appointee will hold office as a member of the governing board until the next regularly scheduled election in November 2026.
Anyone interested in being considered for an appointment to the Governing Board may obtain an application at the District Office, 22580 Kingston Lane, Grass Valley or apply online at www.prsd.us. The deadline for filing the application is May 29, 2026, at 4:00 PM.
