NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
CITY OF MENIFEE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Public Hearing will be held before the Mayor and City Council of the City of Menifee on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 6:00 P.M., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be called, at the City Hall Council Chamber, 29844 Haun Road, Menifee, California, pursuant to Section 6066 of the California Government Code, to consider the following items:
1) Conduct the Public Hearing and accept public testimony regarding Calendar Year (CY) 2025 delinquent solid waste accounts to be applied to the Fiscal Year (FY) 2026/2027 County of Riverside property tax roll for collection.
2) Approve the Solid Waste Delinquency Report from Waste Management, Inc. listing the CY 2025 delinquent solid waste accounts for placement on the FY 2026/2027 County of Riverside property tax roll for collection.
3) Adopt a Resolution authorizing the collection of delinquent solid waste charges on the annual property tax roll; and
4) Authorize the City Clerk to issue a certified copy of the Resolution and the Solid Waste Delinquency Report to be filed with the County of Riverside Auditor-Controller by Waste Management.
All solid waste accounts delinquent beyond sixty (60) days are considered for placement on the County of Riverside property tax roll as a means of collecting these accounts. It is the intent of the City Council to place delinquent solid waste accounts on the tax roll for collection. A copy of delinquent solid waste accounts is available in the City Clerk’s Office, located at 29844 Haun Road, Menifee, CA, for public review during regular business hours.
It is requested that objections and protests be submitted in writing to the City Clerk at least seven (7) days prior to the public hearing date, on or before May 13, 2026. Upon conclusion of the hearing, the City Council may adopt, receive, change, reduce, or modify any charge, overrule any or all objections, and shall make its determination upon each delinquent charge presented. Such determination shall be final.
Upon request, this notice of public hearing will be made available in appropriate alternative formats to persons with disabilities, in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. Any person with a disability who requires a modification or accommodation in order to participate in this public hearing should direct such requests to the City Clerk at 951.723.3708 at least 72 hours before the public hearing. The 72-hour notification will enable the City to make reasonable arrangements to ensure accessibility to this public hearing.
