NOTICE OF PROPOSED
COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
AMENDMENT
A public hearing will be held by the Port Orange Planning Commission on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 5:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as possible, in the Council Chambers, City Hall, 1000 City Center Circle, Port Orange, Florida.
The proposed amendment is to amend the Comprehensive Plan Future Land Use (FLU) Map to change the FLU designation for 56.53 acres from 52.96 acres of Volusia County Agriculture Resource (1 unit/10 acres) and 3.57 acres of Volusia County Urban Low Intensity (0-4 units/acre) to City of Port Orange Rural Transition (0-2 units/acre). The subject property is 56.53-acres located on three parcels, generally on the west side of Airport Road, north of Charles Street.
A copy of this notice and the proposed amendments will be available for public inspection during regular business hours Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the City Clerks office, first floor, City Hall, 1000 City Center Circle, Port Orange, Florida. All interested parties are invited to attend this hearing and voice comments regarding the proposed amendments.
If a person decides to appeal any decision made by the City Council with respect to any matter considered at the above referenced meeting or hearing, he/she will need a record of the proceedings. For such purposes, it may be necessary to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
