NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given that the Historic and Architecture Review Board of the City of Melbourne, Brevard County, Florida calls for a Public Hearing to be held in Melbourne City Hall. The hearing before the Historic and Architecture Review Board will be held in the Melbourne City Hall Council Chamber, 900 E. Strawbridge Ave., MAY 20, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. for the purpose of hearing all persons interested in the following petition.
PUBLIC HEARING HISTORIC DESIGNATION RESCISSION REPORT (HARB2026-0015):
A resolution of the City of Melbourne, relating to the Historic Designation Rescission of a property located at 1248 Highland Avenue, Melbourne, FL 32935, (27-37-21-01-*-23.07), pursuant to the criteria set forth in Section 20-266(a) or (b) of the City Code. (See location map on reverse)
Section 20-269(f) of the Melbourne City Code provides that within 20 days of the rendition of the written decision of the Historic and Architecture Review Board, an aggrieved party may appeal the decision by filing a written notice of appeal. The notice of appeal shall state the decision that is being appealed, the grounds for the appeal, and a brief summary of the relief that is sought. The appeal shall be filed with the Secretary of the Historic and Architecture Review Board in the Community Development Department. Following this meeting, the City Council shall conduct a public hearing on a date to be determined at which time Council may affirm, modify, or reverse the Historic and Architecture Review Boards decision. The decision of City Council shall constitute final administrative review, and no petition for rehearing or reconsideration shall be considered by the City.

This notice does not constitute consent by the City for the introduction or admission into evidence of otherwise inadmissible or irrelevant evidence, nor does it authorize challenges or appeals not otherwise allowed by law.
