The Lake Placid Public Library will hold its budget vote at the library, 2471 Main Str., on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 from 10:00am-6:00pm. To be eligible to vote, an individual must be a United States citizen, a resident of the Lake Placid School District for at least 30 days, and be eighteen (18) years of age. The Lake Placid Public Library was established in 1884. Today it is chartered to serve the Lake Placid School District, although membership is not limited to it. The Lake Placid Public library seeks to be a focal point of our community by providing educational, informational, cultural, and recreational material for all. The principal source of income for the library comes from the Lake Placid Central School District tax base. Any taxpayer in the School District may obtain a copy of the proposed budget for 2026-2027 at the library or on the website www.lakeplacidlibrary.org/about/.
