NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING AMENDMENT TO THE FUTURE LAND USE MAP SUMTER COUNTY UNIFIED COMPREHENSIVE PLAN The Sumter County Planning and Zoning Special Master will hold a public hearing on March 2, 2026 at 5:00 PM at The Everglades Recreation Center 5497 Marsh Bend Trail, The Villages, FL 32163 to consider an amendment to Map 1-3 – 2045 Future Land Use City of Center Hill, of the Future Land Use Element of the Unified Comprehensive Plan of Sumter County representing the City of Center Hill Joint Planning Area, as generally shown on the map in this advertisement, through an ordinance entitled as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF SUMTER COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING THE UNIFIED COMPREHENSIVE PLAN OF SUMTER COUNTY, AS PREVIOUSLY AMENDED; PROVIDING FOR AMENDMENT OF MAP 1-3 – 2045 FUTURE LAND USE CITY OF CENTER HILL OF THE FUTURE LAND USE ELEMENT OF THE UNIFIED COMPREHENSIVE PLAN OF SUMTER COUNTY; PROVIDING FOR LEGISLATIVE FINDINGS AND INTENT; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Requested Action: LU26-000007: Small Scale Comprehensive Plan Amendment to amend Map 1-3 – 2045 Future Land Use City of Center Hill of the Future Land Use Element of the Unified Comprehensive Plan of Sumter County reducing the Joint Planning Area by 124.55 acres. The recommendation of the Planning and Zoning Special Master will be presented to the Board of Sumter County Commissioners at a Public Hearing on March 24, 2026 at 6:00 PM at the Everglades Recreation Center 5497 Marsh Bend Trail, The Villages, FL 32163. The proposed change may be inspected by the public at the Planning Division, The Villages Sumter County Service Center, 7375 Powell Rd, between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. weekdays.
