Requested Action:
Major Special Use Permit for composting organic waste including biosolids and food waste as part of a facility producing agricultural products.
The recommendation of the Planning and Zoning Special Master will be presented to the Board of Sumter County Commissioners at a Public Hearing on June 23, 2026 at 6:00 PM at The Gloria R. Hayward Sumter County Service Center, 215 Gloria Rowe Hayward Way, Sumterville, FL 33585.
The proposed change may be inspected by the public at the Planning and Floodplain Division, The Villages Sumter County Service Center, 7375 Powell Rd, Wildwood between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. weekdays.

Pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 286, Florida Statutes, if a person decides to appeal any action taken by an above named Board respect to any matter considered during any meeting of such Board, he or she will need a record of the proceedings and that, for such purposes, he or she may need to ensure a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record may include the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is based.
Only those persons receiving mailed notice in accordance with the requirements of Sec 13-314 of the Sumter County Land Development Code shall be qualified as affected persons for the purpose of examining witnesses during the noted hearings.
