LEGAL NOTICE NOTICE OF QUASI-JUDICIAL PUBLIC HEARING The Sumter County Planning Zoning Special Master will hold a public hearing on February 16, 2026 at 5:00 P.M at The Everglades Recreation Center 5497 Marsh Bend Trail, The Villages, FL 32163 to consider the following application: Case No: STU25-000061 Applicant: Sts Joachim and Anna Orthodox Church Inc. General Location: Oxford area South of CR 246S and West of N C 475 Legal Description: The West 300 feet of the North 1/2 of the Southwest 1/4 of Section 17, Township 18 South, Range 22 East, Sumter County, Florida. LESS road Right-of-Way as shown in deed recorded in Official Records Book 681, Page 740, Public Records of Sumter County, Florida. Requested Action: Minor Special Use Permit Amendment for a church providing for a graveyard on 0.75 acres and accessory structures. The proposed change may be inspected by the public at the Planning and Floodplain Division, The Villages Sumter County Service Center, 7375 Powell Rd, Wildwood between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. weekdays. Contact the Planning and Floodplain Division at 352-689-4400 or pz@sumtercountyfl.gov with questions. Interested parties are encouraged to appear at these hearings and provide comments regarding the proposed application. Those requiring assistance may call 352-689-4400. Pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 286, Florida Statutes, if a person decides to appeal any action taken by an above named Board respect to any matter considered during any meeting of such Board, he or she will need a record of the proceedings and that, for such purposes, he or she may need to ensure a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record may include the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is based.
